More than 400 students of the team are actively involved in chelonians research projects, which cover chelonians ecology, behaviour, reproductive biology, physiology, toxicology, pathology, etiology and other aspects. By 2022, the students of the team have been awarded 1 international project, 11 innovative research projects for postgraduates in Hainan Province, 21 national-level training projects for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship programmes, and 21 training projects for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship programmes in Hainan Province, and all the projects have successfully accomplished their expected goals and achieved remarkable results.
