Professor Shi Haitao received 14th Baylor Chelonians Lifetime Achievement Award for Turtle Conservation

On August 7th, 2019, Professor Shi Haitao was awarded the Behler Turtle Conservation Award at the 17th Conference on Conservation and Biology of Land and Freshwater Turtles in Tucson, Arizona, U.S.A. The award is regarded as the "Nobel Prize" of the international chelonians conservation field, and this honor is awarded to only one person in the world each year. Professor Shi Haitao is the only Chinese scholar to have received this award in the past.

The award is jointly funded by Global Wildlife Conservation, World Wildlife Conservation Society and others, and presented by the IUCN Chelonians Specialist Group, the World Chelonians Survival Alliance and the International Association for the Conservation of Chelonians.
