Aiming at the problems of multiple management of domestic wildlife protection, long-term non-revision of wildlife protection laws and their lists, and serious detachment from the needs of reality, based on many years of investigation and research, combined with the practice and understanding of long-term participation in wildlife protection and management, the team has analyzed and revealed some of the salient problems in the management system and laws and regulations for wildlife protection by using typical cases, literature and statistical data. The team has strongly appealed for such problems for more than 20 years in the form of written reports, media interviews and internal reports. We have proposed advanced wildlife protection legislation and policy concepts, such as "protect all species that should be protected, protect them in an integrated manner", and have actively promoted the legislative protection of chelonians species. After unremitting efforts, we helped the number of nationally protected species of chelonians increase from 35 per cent to 88 per cent, and the number of wild chelonians population has rised by more than 98 per cent.
