The sea is the home of sea turtles. Beyond the sea, However, who gives sea turtles a home. 18 April 2021, the CCTV Zhengda Zhongyi programme visited the Hainan Normal University sea turtle rescue station to learn about the second home of sea turtles. Currently, the Centre for Research and Protection of Chelonians at Hainan Normal University is the only team specializing in chelonians in China. In order to rescue sea turtles efficiently, teachers and students from the school set up a sea turtle rescue station, relying on the geographical advantage of being close to the coast with convenient transport as well as their own professional knowledge. Hainan Normal University Sea Turtle Rescue Station is the first professional sea turtle rescue station in national universities, was established in 2013.So far there have been nearly 1,000 volunteers joining to the work of sea turtle rescue. They have successfully rescued nearly 100 sea turtles, released nearly 80 turtles to the ocean in 7 years. These volunteers are teachers and students from Hainan Normal University, and they are adorable and inspiring.
