On 4 June 2018, a Jiangsu TV crew entered the Hainan Normal University Sea Turtle Rescue Station to learn about the rescue of sea turtles. Founded in 2014, this rescue station is the only university sea turtle rescue station in China, and its members are all students of Hainan Normal University. Walking into the turtle rescue station, we saw the volunteer Yu Peihai is feeding the turtles, the rescued turtles can now normally eat. Unbeknownst to many, the rescue process is full of hardships, and it is a difficult task to give the turtles injections and feed them. Each time, they have to gently fix the turtle, and then cover its head with a cloth so that it can't feel the light from outside, which makes it quieter and easier for the volunteers to operate. To prevent the turtle from choking, the volunteers also put on a life jacket. In the rescue station, the volunteers take good care of the turtles, regularly change the sea water and brush their backs to ensure a comfortable living environment. Once the rescued turtles meet the conditions for release, the volunteers will release them back to the sea. Although there is reluctance for volunteers to release them, the sea is still the best home for the turtles, and they hope that they can swim freely in the sea. Since its establishment, the Turtle Rescue Station has successfully rescued more than 60 sea turtles. Turtle rescue station also hope that more departments and personnel to join the ranks of the rescue of sea turtles.
