This base is located in the Yellow River Bank Pelodiscus Sinensis Germplasm Resource Reserve in Dali County, eastern Shaanxi Province. It is a river-valley wetland ecosystem, established in September 2010, with a total area of 3,750 hm², and is a national nature reserve that mainly protects Chinese soft-shelled turtle germplasm (Pelodiscus sinensis) resources. The reserve is rich in biological resources, including 17 species of fish, 9 species of amphibians and 18 species of reptiles. In addition, the abundant population of Pelodiscus sinensis in the reserve makes it an ideal research base for studying the ecology of Pelodiscus sinensis.

 Since 2016, our team has been actively cooperating with the Shaanxi Zoological Research Institute, the management office of the protected area, and the aquatic workstation of Dali County, and has been committed to promoting the inauguration and development of the Yellow River Bank field research base. At present, the base has deeply cooperated with Dali County Aquatic Workstation, which can provide our field researchers with one office and several accommodation rooms. The base has a full range of living facilities and transport facilities including rental cars, boats and motorbikes, which can simultaneously meet the needs of a team of 10 people for long-term field research.
