Profession and Job Description
My research interests focus on the ecology, evolution, and conservation of wildlife, with current emphasis on the field population status and conservation of freshwater turtles and tortoises in southern China. As a principal participant, I have been involved in the population genetics and ecological studies of species such as Rafetus swinhoei and Sacalia. I have co-authored 5 research papers and 2 review papers published in journals such as Nature and Ecology and Evolution. I translated the popular science book “Animal Museum: A Pictorial Atlas of Animals,” ISBN 978-7-553-67155-0; wrote 17 popular science articles published in magazines such as “Knowledge is Power” and “Nature History,” as well as on the WeChat public account of “Shanshui Natural Conservation Center,” with 3 articles included in books such as “China’s Big Cats” and “What We’re Saying When We Say No to Wild Meat.”
