Profession and Job Description

       Mainly engaged in the research of physiological ecology and ecotoxicology of amphibians and reptiles. Carried out research on the effects of climate change and environmental ecological factors on the reproduction of amphibians and reptiles, the physiological and ecological adaptation mechanism of the invasive species Trachemys scripta elegans and its hazards, and systematically researched the physiological and ecological adaptation mechanism of T. s. elegans to the brackishwater environment .

Presided over 4 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project of the Ministry of Education and 1 project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and 1 project of the Innovative Team of the Natural Science Foundation of Hainan Province. Published more than 100 academic papers in Science of the Total Environment, Chemosphere, Aquatic Toxicology and other journals as the first author and corresponding author, and published 7 academic books. Applied for 5 national invention and utility model patents, and 3 of utility models have been authorized.

Lectured "Zoology", "Biostatistics" and other courses, actively constructed efficient classroom in teaching, attached great importance to teaching reform and teaching innovation, presided over the national first-class course - "Zoology" and provincial teaching research key projects, published 8 papers on teaching reform. Awarded the first and second prizes of provincial teaching achievements, the second prize of the "Second National Teaching Innovation Competition", and the school-level master teacher of Ideological and Political theory courses.

Concerned about the growth of students, cultivated students with heart, guided students to win the Silver Prize of "Progressive Innovation" in the National Challenge Cup for College Students, the Third Prize of "Challenge Cup" for College Students, the Second Prize of "Challenge Cup" for College Students in Hainan Province, and the Second Prize of Life Science Competition in Hainan Province, etc. Guided students to give full play to their professional strengths, serve the community on a voluntary basis, and actively participate in the construction of the Hainan Biodiversity Museum as well as the voluntary service of sea turtle protection.

 Research Direction:

1. Animal Physiological Ecology: studying the mechanisms of adaptation of chelonians to extreme environments in terms of phenotypes, organs, tissues, and molecular regulation.

2. Animal Toxicological Ecology: to studying the tolerance of chelonians to novel environmental pollutants and the mechanism of tolerance.

       3. Animal nutritional physiology: study the interrelationships between nutrition, immunity, reproduction and gut microbiology in chelonians.
