Profession and Job Description

       1. Conservation biology of chelonians: Participated in the research and conservation of chelonians such as Cuora aurocapitata, Rafetus swinhoei, Manouria impressa. Carried out specialized research on scientific issues such as the invasion ecology of exotic Trachemys scripta elegans and the mycophagy of Manouria impressa. In terms of conservation policy, proposed that captive breeding is not a substitute for the protection of wild populations, and that the focus of conservation should be on the wild; suggested to update the list of protected animals in a timely manner, and list all Chinese chelonians as a priority for conservation and placed under the same departmental management.

 2. Vertebrate Diversity: participated in numerous wildlife diversity surveys and monitoring in Hainan and Yunnan, studied the vertical distribution patterns and influencing factors of tropical mountain amphibians through long-term monitoring, and co-authored a number of new genera, species, and new records in China and at the provincial level, involving amphibians, reptiles, birds and freshwater fishes.
